Making an plan for household pets and livestock (for example, horses, cows, llamas) is an important part of disaster planning. Each type of disaster requires different strategies for keeping pets and animals safe and out of harm's way.   Includes a downloadable brochure on disaster preparedness for families with pets and livestock, and a link to other Colorado animal resources organizations and information.
• Animals and Disasters (FEMA)
  Includes information about disaster planning for animals and encourages families to think about their pets and other animals before disaster strikes.
• Animal Safety: Pets and Disaster (Red Cross)
  Includes information about pet first aid and preparing for farm animals.
• Disaster Preparedness Brochures (Humane Society of the U.S.)

• Emergency Pet Preparedness (ASPCA)
  Includes six steps you can take to make sure your pets will be safe. Offers a free "rescue alert sticker" that can be ordered online.
