“This is a test of the Emergency Alert System…” Established in 1994 by the Federal Communications Commission, the EAS is the official system that the President and emergency management agencies use to warn the public about emergency situations.

EAS lets emergency personnel use broadcast stations, cable systems, and satellite companies to quickly distribute critical information to you and yours during emergencies.
